One of my Short Stories is Being Published in a Fantasy Anthology!

This is big news for me! My short story "The Thief Who Stole the Sun" is going to be printed in the anthology Small Shifts from Lintusen Press with editor Shawn L. Bird. This is my first short story going to print so I'm very pleased!

I've been a reader of fantasy for a long time. When I was a kid, I read series like The Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, The Inheritance Cycle, and Pendragon. I started writing my own fantasy novel at the age of eight (and finished it at about seventeen, though I've never taken it anywhere) so having one of my very own stories in print is really a dream come true. Hopefully this is the first of many published stories!

As I said in a blog post recently, start with the short stories. Luckily, I took my own advice and it's really paid off this year.

"The Thief Who Stole the Sun" is an urban fantasy short story following a shape shifter on a daring, and humorous, heist.

Small Shifts hits book shelves July 2, 2022. The anthology is full of short stories of fantastic transformations. "Tough predators are the most common human/animal shifts in fiction, but what if someone turned into something less cool?" It's an interesting question and inspired me to write what I think is a fun and funny story. Pre-orders will be available in May so stay tuned for more details!
