HAPPY NEW YEAR 2018!

Welcome to 2018 everyone, it's so exciting to be here!

After nearly two years, I've decided to boot up my old website and start up a brand new blog. This website (and blogging) mostly fell away when I started working more full-time with Chimera Theatre and launched their website.

Here is my first official blog post. It's really just to establish that I have a blog again and to put the gears in motion for future posts. My hope is that I can use this to keep people (primarily myself) updated on what I'm doing in the theatre world in Canada. 2017 was amazing for me from Mockus at the start to A Christmas Carol at the end. I can't wait to see what 2018 has in store.

I mostly use social media posts (primarily twitter and instagram) because they're more mobile, quicker, and easier to digest, but I'd like to do a few of these posts over the next year to let people know about major upcoming projects.

So far, I've got three big projects lined up in 2018 that I'm really excited about!

First, I've adapted Mary Shelley's classic gothic thriller Frankenstein and am directing it for Chimera Theatre! We've already started rehearsals and the world premiere production of my new script opens March 1st, 2018!

Second, the inaugural Hydra Festival is happening in May 2018! I'm producing it with Chimera Theatre and am very excited about featuring twelve local theatre production in Kamloops.

Third, I'm so happy to share that I'm directing my first show with Project X Theatre this summer as part of X-Fest 2018! This will be my SIXTH summer with the company and after acting in nine productions, doing choreography for two, and assistant directing one (with some overlap between these) I am so happy to be directing my first show! It's The Three Munschketeers by Debbie Patterson and, as a lover of both Alexander Dumas and Robert Munsch, I couldn't be more excited.

So that's it for now. I've got lots of plans for what I'll be doing in the next year and as things are finalized I'll be sharing them here. Goodbye 2017 and hello 2018!
