The time has come. My short film Strangers premieres Friday at the Okotoks Film Festival! I'll be attending the festival this weekend, so if you're around feel free to come and say hello.

Strangers is screening in the TwistedReels shorts package, playing Friday at 10:00 pm. If you are around, you can get tickets for our screening here:

In other news, Strangers didn't get into Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal or the Shorts to Feature Lab as part of the Frontières International Co-Production Market. I'm disappointed, if you've been following my journey you know Fantasia was the big film festival I wanted to get into. But I'm not that surprised. This just means I have more work to do. And I will continue to work!

For now, I'm going to focus on celebrating the world premiere this weekend. I'm really excited to finally get to see Strangers in a cinema with an audience. What a treat!

If you haven't seen it already, you can check out the teaser trailer for the short here:

If you aren't around Calgary or Okotoks this weekend, no worries! I've still got the project submitted to plenty of other festivals, so hopefully there will be many more chances to see Strangers this year.

Since I'm giving more of an update on where I'm at this week, I'll say that I'm still writing away. I had a great story session yesterday with my twin and the character-driving draft of the script is coming along really well. I'll keep plugging away at writing over the summer. My current goal is to have a script I'm ready to send out by Halloween. Wish me luck!

One last thing. I've been loving all the conversations I've had about films and filmmaking this year so far. I'm really feeling a sense of community in the indie filmmaking world.
