We made it! Not only is it the end of another year but it's the end of another decade! For the last three years I've been aiming to see over 52 plays per year and this year I really outdid myself. In 2019 I saw a whopping one hundred fifty-six plays over fifty two weeks! Most of these plays came from my time in the spring and summer spent at theatre festivals across Western Canada. This included six shows at the Festival of Animated Objects, nine at the 2019 Hydra Performing Arts Festival, eleven plays at Sage Theatre's annual IGNITE! Festival of Emerging Artists, and a whopping one hundred between the five fringes I attended in Regina, Winnipeg, Calgary, Victoria, and Vancouver during my summer tour with Chimera Theatre. You can read more...

Spring is finally here and I'm sure I'm not the only one who's breathing heavy sighs of relief in this warm fresh air. I was initially afraid that Edmonton wouldn't be as balmy as Calgary, but so far northern Alberta is treating me great with every day being above 10ºC!

March has been a whirlwind of a month so far and I'm so excited to be jumping into my next project in Edmonton (The Invisible at Catalyst Theatre). Before talking about what's coming up next in my theatre world, I just wanted to reflect on my first time with the Festival of Animated Objects in Calgary last week!

I made it to Calgary.

The move from Kamloops itself was quite easy, I just loaded up everything I could fit into my Mazda 3 and drove across the Rocky Mountains. I've been in Calgary  for about two weeks now and I'm still living out of boxes and unpacking and getting settled.

"Why?" Thank you for asking imaginary reader.

It's because after opening Padova: The Untold Story and Escape From Padova with Tranquille Tunnel Theatre in Kamloops on September 1st, I had one day to load up and move, one day to get into my new basement suite, and then on September 4th I started rehearsals for the world premiere of Mary and Max: The Musical at Theatre Calgary!
